Managing Emotions

Welcome to Managing Emotions: Reframing Your Feelings for Constructive Action. This course was originally delivered as a live, facilitated webinar. It has been converted to a self-study format, which means you set the pace. I want you to experience each module as if a facilitator were speaking directly to you.

A few things will make this experience work for you:

  • Keep a notebook (or the companion workbook) beside you. When you see a PAUSE AND REFLECT box, stop and actually write your answer. The value of this course lives in those pauses, not just in listen to the videos.
  • This course is question-driven, and it is okay not to know the answer to a good question. Sit with the questions. They are designed to get you out of your echo chamber — the place where all you hear are your own justifications for why your choices are right.
  • Expect to be a little uncomfortable. Accept being uncomfortable as necessary for growth. If a reflection question feels too invasive, answer it privately in your notes and move on.
